How to get British Open 2019 tickets for PortrushJuly 9, 2018
The 148th Open Championship will take place at Portrush in Northern Ireland in 2019 and tickets are on sale already for the showpiece event.
The R&A has opened up the first stage of ticket sales to members of a new club called The One Club. Free to join, the club gives members access to tickets for the event at this early stage of the year.
Joining will also mean members get priority for the 2020 Open at St George’s and the 2021 Open at St Andrew’s golf courses, as well as merchandise offers, access to priority tickets and even the ability to feedback on the Open experience and influence the future direction for the event.
The blurb says: “Now you can take your place among The Open’s greatest and most influential fans. The One Club is an opportunity for you to share your passion for The Open and to help shape its future. By joining The One Club, you become part of a community able to access a range of exclusive benefits and experiences.
“When you sign up, you will enjoy first access to priority tickets for every staging of The Open.”
The 2018 Open golf tournament is being held at Carnoustie. Open 2018 tickets are still available.
Where is the Open 2019?
Northern Ireland has not hosted the Open for over 70 years so Portrush is an historic moment for the sport in the country. The event takes place on 18-21 July 2019.
In preparation for the vent two new holes will be built on the Dunluce Links. The new additions will be at the 7th and 8th holes Both holes and new infrastructure will be put in place for better viewing sports for fans during the tournament.
The club has two courses and is based in the North of Northern Ireland in County Antrim. Surrounded by Dunes and with views as far as the Isle of Islay, it is regarded as one of the best courses in the world.
